Application

The timeline for 2024 is shown below:

  • Application Deadline: March 15 (11:59 PM AoE)
  • First Notice of Invitation and Acceptance: March 18-22
  • Second Notice of Invitation and Acceptance: March 25-29

To be eligible for the REU program, a student must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Be currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate at WSU or UHCL, community colleges, or elsewhere in US and its territories.
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0
  • Have at least 1 year remaining before graduation (at the time of application)
  • Have a strong desire to pursue a graduate program

To apply, applicants need to prepare the following materials:

  • CV (in PDF)
  • Copy of the academic transcript (in PDF)
  • Short essay (up to 2 pages in PDF), describing one’s interests in computer science and/or engineering, one’s goal for the REU program, the one’s plan for graduation education
  • One letter of recommendation
